Anwar plans new era of governance for Malaysia

     

Anwar Ibrahim, the leader of Malaysia’s ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition and President of the People’s Justice Party, tells Morning Edition’s Steve Inskeep about how he plans a new era of governance. His party ousted a ruling coalition that had been in power for over six decades.

Ibrahim discussed challenges resulting from growing authoritarianism around the world and how democracies can meet those challenges when he delivered the NED’s fifteenth annual Seymour Martin Lipset Lecture on February 11th at the Embassy of Canada. Watch the lecture here.
