The Chinese and Russian governments are collaborating to undermine human rights accountability mechanisms in the United Nations, says a report from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), POLITICO reports.
Beijing and Moscow are leaders of “the Like-Minded Group (LMG), a voting cohort in the UN composed primarily of autocracies that acts collectively to constrain the international human rights system,” the report observes.
